1. Introduction

Public Fix Profile for Outlook

We congratulate to you to your decision to use our program Public Fix Profile for Outlook.

We know, to read manuals belongs to the not loved tasks, but we are also sure: The person who can read has an advantage. ;-)

The reason is often an update of Outlook on a higher version, without to create a new Outlook profile or to delete at first the old Outlook profile. Other reasons could be wrong developed Outlook Addons who create additional registry entries for Outlook folders or a reason could be the import of data in Outlook.

The most frequent messages are for example:

"can't remove duplicate personal folders after update to Outlook 2003"

This duplicate Personal Folder behaves exactly like the original....all subfolders within each of the 2 Personal Folders are absolutely identical. Whenever messages are received, they are listed and stored in each Inbox folder...when messages are sent, they are shown passing thru each Outbox folder and are subsequently stored in each Sent Items folder.

or

"after an import I can't remove duplicate personal folders"

I have a user with Outlook 2002. She has duplicate Personal Folders. One is called Personal Folder and the other is called Outlook today. Only one is active in receiving and sending e-mails but she wants to get rid of the first Personal Folder and keep the outlook today. I have tried several things.

The most Outlook support sides recommends a new Outlook profile (with the appropriate links to the Microsoft Outlook sides),but theree are also different additional solutions, e.g. the Freeware Addon "Public Fix Profile for Outlook"

Public Fix Profile for Outlook is based on the description of this english website:

http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/ghosts.htm (by MVP Diane Poremsky)

This description says, that the deinstallation or also a repair of Microsoft Outlook or Office do not cause the Outlook Registry, because a Outlook repair or new installation does not affect the profile attitudes of Outlook.

The solution are abandoned registry entries, thus entries, which were not properly deleted..

Public Fix Profile for Outlook is a freeware Addon, that indicates the appropriate Registry keys in an editor and in this editor you can delete the "red marked" and wrong registry keys.

Why does Public Fix Profile for Outlook don´t delete this entries automatically?
The registry belongs to the most sensitive ranges of your PC and we find, we should not delete any entries of your Windows registry without your confirmation, independently if there is a backup function or not.

You can create naturally also a new Outlook profile (this option remains for you, also after a use of Public Fix Profile for Outlook).

Any Questions?

If you have any questions, that are not answered in the manual, you could send us an email, but we can not promise that you get a fast answer. This program is freeware and we normaly don´t support our freeware solutions. It is more like a gift. If we have time to answer we will do it and after a while we will update the manual.
