4. How to use Public Fix Profile

Public Fix Profile is a Freeware Addin for Outlook, and can be used without installation.

Public Fix Profile Wizard makes it possible to repair Outlook profiles in which abandoned entries occur.

In Outlook such abandoned entries appear e.g. as duplicate "Outlook today", whereby you cannot deleted this file.

Proceeding

Please close Outlook.

Start Public Fix Profile.

Create a backup of the registry entries, which contain the profile information.:

Click on "Backup..."

Following dialog field opens.

Please insert an individual file name and click on "Save":

Open now in the left folder structure the profiles and here the "Unrelated sections", which are marked with a "red questionmark":




If in your profile no unconnected section occurs, then the profile is not damaged, and/or it cannot be repaired with Public Fix Profile.

In order to find the incorrect entries, please select the sections in the left folder opinion which are marked with the red question mark and examine the entry in the right folder list:

- PR_DISPLAY_NAME bzw. PR_DISPLAY_NAME_W

If the entry corresponds to the name of the double entry in Outlook and if one of the other two entries is listed on the right folder list, then please delete the section now with a click on "Delete" and confirm this with "Yes".



If all unconnected sections are deleted, please start Outlook and check the result.

If you would like to cancel the changes, you can terminate (cloese) Outlook, doubleclick on the backup file, which you created at the beginning:.

Deinstallation:
The software cannot be deinstalliert, because it was not installed. So there is no need to deinstall it..

If you want to remove the software from your computer, delete only the Public FixProfile.exe or .zip file.
